Our LED screen size is 24.96 x 6.72m (for two sides of all V shaped LED screens), that is 24960 x 6720mm
The pixel pitch of the screen is 8mm
So the resolution of the screen is 3120 x 840
24960mm / 8mm = 3120
6720mm / 8mm =840
The resolution of 4K video/ photo is 4096 x 2160
When we play the 4096×2160 resolution 4K video/photo on 3120×840 resolution screen, there are two situations.
1.We can let the 4096×2160 resolution 4K video/photo height suits for the screen completely.
But when the 2160 height of 4K video/photo suits for 840 height of the screen, the 4096 length of 4K video/photo won’t suits for the 3120 length of the screen.
The performance will looks like below
2. We can let the 4096×2160 resolution 4K video/photolength suits for the screen completely.
But when the 4096 length of 4K video/photo suits for 3120 length of the screen, the 2160 of 4K video/photo won’t suits for the 840 length of the screen.
The performance will looks like below
The reason is:
The resolution ratio of 4K video/photo is 4096 / 2160 = 1.896
The resolution ratio of LED screen is 3120 / 840 = 3.71
They are not similar, so the performance is not good.
Solutions:
1. We don’t play 4K resolution video/photo but play the videos/photos which are similar to resolution ratio of 3.71, for example 4000×1078, 4096×1100, 4500×1200, etc. The screen will have a good performance when the resolution ratio of videos/photos suit for the screen resolution ratio.
2. We change the screen size so that we can change the screen resolution ratio.
We can make 24.96×13.44m screen, the resolution ratio will be 1.857 which is similar to the 1.896 resolution ratio of 4K video.
Or we can make 19.2×10.56m, the resolution ratio will be 1.828 which is also similar to the 1.896 resolution ratio of 4K video/photo.
PS：The resolution of the LED screen has nothing to do with whether it can play 4K video, any LED screen can play 4K video, but there will be two situations.
1) If the resolution ratio of LED screen is far of from 1.896, the videos or pictures can be distorted which looks like below.
2) If the resolution of the LED screen is too low like 1500×540, 1000×300, etc, it can’t display 4096×2160 resolution video/photo well. (Looks like below)
(This is P10 LED screen, picture is 2K~4K, the performance is not good.)
