There are two screens in same size but in different pixel pitch as below
![]()
The left screen: pixel pitch is 8mm, so the resolution is 1560×840.
Length resolution: 12480 / 8 = 1560
Height resolution: 6720 / 8 = 840
The suitable view distance of this screen is 8~500m
The right screen: pixel pitch is 3mm, so the resolution is 4160×2240 (more than 4K)
Length resolution: 12480 / 3 = 4160
Height resolution: 6720 / 3 = 2240
The suitable view distance of this screen is 3~500m
When you play 4K videos/photos and we see the two screens from 3 meters, their performance will look like below:
![]()
The P8 LED screen looks a little blurry, P3 LED screen looks very clear.
When you play 4K videos/photos and we see the two screens from 20 meters, their performance will look like below:
![]()
The P8 screen looks better than it looks when you stand 3 meters away, but still not as good as P3 screen. The P3 screen still looks very clear.
When you play 4K videos/photos and we see the two screens from 100 meters, their performance will look like below:

The P8 LED screen looks clear, the P3 LED screen looks clear, they have no difference.
So the conclusion is, the smaller your screen size is, the smaller the viewing distance from viewer to the screen is, the smaller pixel pitch needed.
When your screen is big enough and the viewers see the screen far away, the effect will be the same no matter what resolution of the videos/photos you’re playing on LED screen or the screen in which pitch.
